2 teachers from Spain and 3 from Austria went to a second visit to Norway to revise the best way of doing things and rearrange the learning platform adding a new folder for the final learning sequences and also, adding the students who were going to participate in the last common task: PUPILS EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION
Here, you have the report written after the meeting:
On the 7th of November, my colleague Lina and me from Pedro Cerrada School went to Sandnes in Norway to meet other teachers involved in the Project since 2009.
Alfred Askevold, the general coordinator of the project and Director of Technologies in the 'Skeiene Ungdomsskole' showed us all the facilities at school related to computers and ICTs which are better than in Spain, and let them work easily with no problems of internet conexions. I had the opportunity to observe the way of teaching and learning in different classes and different subjects, seeing a lot of differences in relation to our Education system. We were working on the project on the 8th, 9th and 10th on the topic 'Ecosystems', which is the common topic this year.
We included all our pupils in the platform again and created a new folder for them: 'Final learning sequences'. We decided they had to finish or if already finished, they would have to put in the platform: 5 plants and 5 animals in every country with at least 3 photographs per item. There were a lot of proposals, we shared our experiences with the pupils and started the idea of a student exchange of information in the platform through internal messages and having one correspondent from every country.
Marga, our coordinator had tried to communicate with us through a video conference with SKYPE but we couldn't see her. She could see and hear us so finally she sent the details of 67 pupils who were going to participate in the exchange, many more than there were in the other countries so some of them would have the same correspondents in Norway and Austria.
In conclusion, we agreed that there would be 3 Exchanges:
1.- Students would start filling up a profile with their personal details and sending it to their correspondents, then tey would receive the others and they would have to write areport saying about the similarities and the differences.
2.- Students would do a survey about their healthy habits and would send a message concerning their food habits, their favourite food and a typical recipe from their countries. They would have some answers and would have to report about it.
3.- As they had already prepared the learning sequences related to the different ecosystems of the 3 countries, they would have to check what they knew or had learnt about theirs and the other countries, and then, send a message asking for species in danger of extinction in the other countries and preparing some information with a photo of one from their own country.
then, we agreed on dead lines for the exchanges: January, February and March Then, we would have to prepare some evaluation sheets (??) and ready for the final meeting.
On the last afternoon, we had the opportunity to visit Stavanger although the weather was very cold and snowy. We had a lovely time.
